Luis Enrique and the Barcelona players will be under no illusion that they are through to the semi-finals of the Champions League just yet. But having today´s second leg at the Nou Camp and a 3-1 lead over PSG from the first leg at the Stade de France makes us clear favourites.
PSG need to score at least three times tonight but they do have a couple of key players back in the form of the former Barca striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and midfield maestro Marco Verratti. And we saw from the previous round against Chelsea that the French champions are capable of causing an upset, so we don´t really need the Real Madrid assistant Zinedine Zidane to tell us that PSG could possibly go through, as reported by ESPN.
The Frenchman said, “It’ll be very difficult for PSG to score three goals at the Camp Nou, but they’re a team that’s capable of doing it.
“They have the players to do that, and they are also going to get certain players back. So, in a single game, anything is possible. It’s certainly the most difficult challenge they face.
“But as everyone thinks they won’t go through, it’s at those times that players are capable of anything. I hope for them that they’ll have the possibility to worry them.
“I remember when we played against the great AC Milan with Bordeaux. We lost the first leg 2-0, and we won 3-0 at home. It was the great era of Milan with [Franco] Baresi, [Paolo] Maldini et al. We weren’t very much at all, and in the end… It’s not the exactly the same because there are already established players in Paris, but anything is possible over one game.”
I can see what he is trying to do but I think Zidane should be looking closer to home because Atletico Madrid have a much better chance of going through against his club tomorrow than PSG do against us tonight. Yes Zinedine, the French club could come back from their losing position but they won´t because Barca are not going to take it for granted and are just too strong at home.
