Barcelona plan HUGE summer after transfer ban lifted 0

Posted on April 25, 2014 by admin

After a few weeks in which nothing has gone right for FC Barcelona, there was finally some good news for the cub and the fans. The transfer ban that had been imposed by FIFA for breaking the rules about underage players from non-EU countries has now been lifted. But it has only been suspended.

We still don’t know whether or not Barca will be allowed to sign players in January or next summer, so the club is planning to make hay while the sun shines. There is going to be a massive overhaul of the squad, from top to bottom.

Barcelona transfer news – Chelsea’s Luiz for £30m? 0

There was all sorts of transfer speculation in the summer concerning Barcelona and their need to sign a top quality centre back. Plenty of players were linked with a move to the Nou Camp, but apparently the club did not see the need as desperate, because nobody was signed.

The first choice was Thiago Silva of PSG, but the Brazilian international ended up signing a new contract with the mega rich French champions. The noises coming our of Barcelona after that was that they were not going to sign a player just for the sake of it.

Barcelona continue to track Agger 0

Barcelona are reportedly still monitoring Liverpool defender Daniel Agger despite the Denmark international insisting he would be staying with the Premier League club. Despite Tata Martino’s men currently stand-out favourites for this season’s La Liga title, Barcelona are still believed to be determined to sign a defender when the January transfer window opens.

The 28-year old was linked with a move to the Nou Camp during the summer but nothing materialised at the time despite Agger admitting he would have been tempted if Barca had approached him.

Puyol back in training as Mourinho warns Barcelona off Luiz 0

The transfer saga surrounding Barcelona and their pursuit of the Brazilian centre back David Luiz from Chelsea rumbles on. Some media outlets are reporting that the 26-year old has made it clear to his Premier League club that he wants to move to La Liga and play for Barcelona.

Apparently, his desire to be a Barca player is because of the style of football played at the Nou Camp and has nothing to do with money. The Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, however, is insisting that his player is going nowhere and is a valuable part of his plans for the season.

As Chelsea want 50m for Luiz, Barcelona will not sign anyone 0

There is no secret that Barcelona have been hoping to sign a top quality centre back this summer. Faqns and football reporters thought that the problems of last season showed clearly that the Spanish champions were badly in need of another central defender this season, but the new manager Tata Martino does not seem to agree on the seriousness of the need.

Barcelona make £20m official bid for Chelsea’s Luiz 0

I am not very confident about Barcelona successfully completing the transfer of the Brazilian international David Luiz from Chelsea, but the Spanish champions have now made their first official bid, according to Mundo Deportivo. The numbers involved are reported to be between 20 and 25 million euros.

There have been conflicting reports in the English media that the bid would be bigger, or that Chelsea had told the Barcelona representatives that they were looking for around £40 million to part with the 26-year old defender, but I very much doubt whether Barca will agree to such a massive fee.

If Barcelona cannot get Luiz from Chelsea, Martino will wait for Puyol 2

Once Barcelona had confirmed their fourth La Liga title in five years and crashed out of the Champions League to the eventual winners Bayern Munich, all thoughts turned to the summer transfer window. Along with the capture of the Brazilian superstar striker Neymar from Santos, the general consensus was that the priority had to be signing a new top quality centre back.

However, the main target was Thiago Silva, and his capture from PSG was just not possible for Barca. The next defensive target is Silva’s Brazilian team mate David Luiz. The new Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was thought to be unimpressed by Luiz and ready to sell him. That may be true, and representatives from the Nou Camp are reported to be in London trying to get the deal done.

Barcelona to offer Chelsea €30m for David Luiz? 0

It seems as though Barcelona may have finally given up on the priority transfer target Thiago Silva. Having been unable to persuade the French champions PSG to do business, Barcelona cannot afford to simply blow them away with a massive offer. For one thing, Barca have not got that much to play with after the signing of Neymar from Santos and for another, PSG are loaded with money already.
